March winds: Learn to paint the colors of the wind

What do we wish for the Earth? Is it alive or merely something beneath our feet to exploit? Can we learn to love the many places we've never seen, or may never visit? What do we want for ourselves, that we would deny another having? Is there a song you would sing to the Earth?

I offer this one::

  1. Is the earth alive?! That's interesting. The earth encompasses so much. I'm not a scientist and I certainly do not remember much from my days in science class, but there is life in the earth. Trees and flowers grow from the richness of the earth's soil. People and animals are feed from the earth, but to say it's alive? This perplexes me because when I thin of being alive, I think of people or animals. Of course, when people or animals die their forms return to the earth whereas the earth continues to rejuvenate ~ supplying future generations with resources. I don't believe we are to exploit the earth, but she is here for our use. God gave us dominion over the earth, but He wants us to govern wisely. I'm not into the whole green thing and feel like many of these efforts cause more harm than good. This is the home God gave us and we need to take care of it. Nice post!

    1. Cathy - thank you so much for answering the questions. Indeed, I too, found "is the earth alive?" a perplexing question. I know there's energy but is that life? We're told by science that there's a constant exchange of molecules, so do we give and receive life, inclusive with the earth?

      I agree regarding some of the "green thing." Some is all about control which no longer gives us freedom to even grow our own food anymore. Itt is more and more placed in big business hands.

      Yes - dominion is an issue people are in conflict about. I'm inclined to agree with everything you've expressed, but some without experience may disagree. Note, I could have said 'belief,' but it is through actual experience that brings me to the conclusion you've stated, regarding God.

      I'm glad you participated in this venture. Your answer gives me things to contemplate and build upon. Thank you (smile).

    1. Oh, Pat! Well let the cat sing when you want music, or play a happy CD. Of course should the earth explode, at least now, I'll know what happened.

      Just when I thought those singers who break crystal glasses were so amazing... you offer a bigger record breaker. By all means, shhhhh...
